Thai Massage Training
Certified Thai Massage Course - Level 1
(30 hours) with Helen Say
(30 hours) with Helen Say
A traditional 10 day training has been split into two trainings, Level 1 & 2.
The first course is an introduction to the sacred dance of Thai Massage. We introduce you to the world of touch, which is often misconceived, we open a dialogue between one another as an act of unconditional love, beyond preferences & judgements. Without touch the world would be only solitude & separation. With it we have an amazing tool to facilitate the process of healing.
The course will be based on understanding
1. Thai massage foundations (meditation in movement) & the principles of Touch: how to get softness & power in our hands, how to move in a fluid way on the floor using our whole body.
2. Working through the flow of a Thai Massage sequence. The sequence is designed to treat the needs of Western patients through creating mobility & movement, restoring basic flexibility & balancing flow of energy.
Level 1
The aim of Level 1 is to give an understanding of the Principles of being, touching & working on the floor (using hands, feet, elbows, knees & using our body weight & stretching). You will be able to complete a sequence, giving a fully body massage, moving through a traditional sequence (supine, side, prone). And you will learn about Energy lines specific to eastern philosophies & techniques.
This 30 hours course is open to everyone (no prerequisites):
– from the complete beginner who has no hands-on experience and wishes simply to be able to give a good massage to family and friends,
– to the yoga teacher, health professional (physiotherapist, osteopath, nurse…) who wishes to expand his or her therapeutic techniques.
The main outcomes of the course:
– the understanding of Thai massage principles (centering, grounding, the four sublime states: Metta, Karuna, Mudita, Uppekha and more);
– the learning of a complete 90 minute full body Thai massage sequence;
–It is a deep transformative experience teaching us the way we move, interact and communicate;
